On my estate we have a wonderful sense of community, but at the same time sometimes people stab you in the back. So we have a great community but also problems in the community. So in this new sermon series, we'll be looking at the topic of community. Today we start by looking at how God is the original community, and what was the first community like that he formed. This will give us a basis for how we think about thriving in community over the coming weeks. About 13 years ago I wrote a dissertation on this topic, and it was called 'Seed Theology,'' but to avoid confusion with prosperity gospel preachers who talk about 'giving a seed,' we've renamed this theology as 'Two Communities Theology.' For those interested, this theology came about from applying the doctrine of the antithesis to council estate life in a dissertation I wrote in 2011 (contact me if you want to read it).
