There was a big tune in my youth with a sample of a bouncer saying, “Your name’s not down you’re not coming in.” Sometimes we live our lives as if God takes this stance with us. It’s like years ago when my wife and I queued up for hours in the cold to get into a night club only to realise once we got to the door that we were on the guest list and could have gone straight in all along. This talk looks at how we can have a mentality of “My name’s written down!”
This talk is based on Luke’s gospel chapter 10, verses 17-20
Luke 10:17–20 (NIV)
17 The seventy-two returned with joy and said, “Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name.”
18 He replied, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. 19 I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. 20 However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”
